Steve Roddick is an accomplished executive, business owner, and property investor, with a depth of experience, which includes owning and operating small to medium sized ventures, in the $5-50M range, both in Australia and overseas. Including, all aspects of day to day business management, logistics and planning, and the successful transition of a business to a new owner.

Steve’s business experience, and success, gives him a depth of experience that can only be learned as a hands on executive over many years.

Steve’s first business venture was in 1988, when working as a Plant Manager and Engineer for a subsidiary of Shell Australia, Steve was recruited by ED & F Man Pacific (Hong Kong) Limited to oversee the construction of Hong Kong’s first oil refinery and lubricating oil blending plant.As Managing Director of Lubrico (Hong Kong) LimitedSteve spent 4 years living and working in Hong Kong, and successfully established the business as a pioneer of waste recycling in Asia.

Steve’s next business venture was in 2003, when an opportunity presented itself to design and build automotive service bodies for a national TELCO.

Amplus Auto Body Pty Ltd was formed in 2003 with shareholder funding from a variety of sources including Indonesian Chinese business owners, and also local investors. As Managing Director Steve was responsible for all aspects of the business, including design and procurement, manufacturing of components and finished goods, logistics, sales and marketing, and human resources.

Amplus Auto Body developed a reputation for quality and service that was respected throughout the Automotive industry, and became the preferred supplier of custom built service bodies, for many global brands, and fleet managers, including Westrac, Hitachi, Atlas Copco, ACT Energy & Water, AGL, NSW State Emergency Service, NSW Police, and many more.

To compliment the Amplus business, Steve secured the Australian franchise for Amco Veba Cranes (Italy), in 2006. AV Cranes Australia Pty Ltd was formed and between 2006 and 2014 AV Cranes secured a significant market share in a very difficult market dominated by multi nationals such as HIAB and Palfinger.

The Amplus business was successfully sold to Byron Group in June 2014, Byron Group are Australia’s largest ambulance builder and operate nationally, with manufacturing and offices in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Dubai. Steve stayed on with Byron for a short period as National Business Development Manager.

AV Cranes Australia Pty Ltd was successfully sold to the HYVA Group in 2014, HYVA Group are based in Europe and are the world’s largest producer of hydraulic cylinders, and are one of the top 4 hydraulic crane producers in the world.

Steve currently owns and operates a mortgage broking franchise with Smartline Personal Mortgage Advisers, is a CEO adviser with SME Growth Partners. Steve is also a Justice of the Peace (NSW).

Steve is a keen recreational pilot, scuba diver, and martial artist.

While he has a broad range of business skills, Steve prides himself on his honesty, integrity, and discipline, and ability to achieve a positive outcome for his clients.
